Rathdrum Prairie Raptor Survey 2012-2013

Doug Ward designed a Rathdrum Prairie Winter Raptor Survey Route. This is a new addition to a regional survey being coordinated by the East Cascades Audubon Society. There are currently over 200 routes in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho which are covered monthly during the winter (Nov.-Feb.) to collect total population and population densities for the raptors utilizing the area during the winter. This winter two trial runs of the route were conducted, one in January and one in February. Starting next November, plans are being formed to include these once a month surveys in our list of field trips.
